Dedicated or nuts

Today was a long full day from the instant I stepped through the door and put my bag down in my office. We had some new toys coming in for a promotion and they needed to be setup and readied for testing ASAP. While that was going on, I had to contend with issues arising in the opening of our new restaurants. All the while dealing with OTHER crap all at the same time. And then my day was going to get cut short because our team had a bowling event downtown. I came this close to not going and/or making it. LITERALLY RIGHT before I left I had something else land on my plate, and instead of leaving it for Monday, I took care of it asap. The bowling thing was at this place called The Tavern, which was pretty cool space in the middle of downtown. The only thing I found sucky was, the walls around the lanes were glass so passerbys could stop and watch. Talk about performance anxiety. Overall it was pretty fun. The boss picked up our tab and some good eats. Chris once again managed to get the attention of our waitress who paid him all kinds of special attention, while the rest of us were left holding our emptying glasses hoping for some attention. I swear, whenever we roll out, this man get the attention of some bartender or waitress and scores us free drinks. I am so not complaining.

After the bowling thing wrapped up we sat around talked it up with a few guys from our team and the head of the company. These situations are always WROUGHT with pitfalls. Some upper management people appreciate it when for a short time we just forget their position and want to just hang. Some of those same people would much rather, we treat them with the same...errr...deference as we do at work. Well after this guy told me to fuck off, a few times, it seemed he was more of the former than the latter. haha!
