Miserly Me

There was a career fair today that was not attended by as my businesses that were advertised. As a matter of fact, some of the presenters were packing up by the time I got there, which was about the mid-point of the announced time. Still, I was able to meet several people and I think I made a good impression on a few of them. They seemed interested in me personally and think that I made a good impression. Tomorrow I will follow up with them and make sure that impression stays in their head for awhile longer. Networking 101.

With the extra time gained from the short stint at the fair, I went back near the house to get some stuff done for my car. Quick aside: I love the Sunday Washington Post. I love the political section. I love the metro section. I love the comics. I love the commentary. I love the ads for the gadgets I canft afford to buy yet, but nonetheless oogle them with much lust. I also love the coupons. Itfs financially negligent to read the paper and at least check out the coupon section in the off chance there may be something in there you use regularly that you could save on. Frankly, I donft care if that makes me efemininef, edomesticf or any other kind of knuckle dragging epithet. The paper costs $1.50, right? Yet you can make that back by using just a few coupons. And you can make that back BIG TIME, if you happen to use even more coupons for ordinarily purchased items. We wonft even get into places that actually double coupons. ROI. Return On Investment. Money saved. Ainft nothing wrong with that.

There was a coupon for an oil & lube, and my car was overdue. Cost for said oil change: $14.15 with coupon. Cost without coupon: $29.99. They do more than just change the oil, which attracted me to them. I need to find a new mechanic and hope these guys pan out.

Treehouse Version 7.0 Officially launched

This is as close to an gofficial launchh of a new layout as I can muster. Depending on when I started counting, this is either version 7 or version 8. For my sanityfs sake, Ifm calling it V.70. Most of the sections of the layout are up and running, with the exception of the Journal Cast and Bio. Take a looksey. The section labeled gCurrent Journalh is redundant because instead of having a separate section for the blog, itfll just be the first you see when you visit from now on. As time goes on the layout will be tweaked and announcements about what was done will go up.

To recap:

Updates done so far:
New face on Photo Gallery and Archived Journal
Blog installed and setup.

To be done:
Journal Cast
This section will showcase some of the people who appear frequently in the journal.

Portfolio
My portfolio is in dire need of a facelift. TBA.

Bio
Well the name speaks for itself.

Artery Clogging Goodness

Tonight we had family dinner over at my uncle Ramonfs and his wife Angela pulled out all the stop. Wefre talking stacked dish setting, more forks than you shake a stick at and enough food to feed a platoon. Needless to say I was stuffed afterwards.

After dinner I went back to church, err, I went TO church. I awoke so late that going to church wouldfve been pointless. To top it off, the person I wanted to meet had already left. SOL. Ended up talking with some of my friends there and joined them for dinner at a Thai restaurant and half the folks there had never had. This is a good and bad thing. Trying new foods for me has always been an adventure, however not everyone shares that sense of adventure. Itfs doubly sucky when youfre looking for just vegetarian fare. On a whole the food at the restaurant was average, may be even below average.

Our friend started telling us about this place that had the best ice cream, and I finished the sentence for him. I finished it because I knew what the answer SHOULD be, and if they hadnft experienced this kind of ice cream, they really, really, really, really needed to! The best ice cream of course can only be had at Coldstonefs. The reason Coldstonefs is the bestest, creamiest, and dopest ice cream is because whereas normal high grade ice cream like Breyerfs or Haagen Daz, has a butter fat of about 15%-20%, Coldstonefs has a butter fat of about 30% or more. This makes is creamy, rich, and artery clogging goodness!
