Why do I even have the Treehouse still!?!? I haven't updated this thing in dog years! There is so much going on, but I need to take the time to document my history. The highlights thus far:
- Friday made the end of my first week at my new job. It was really fucking cool! Everyone is very goal driven and all about results. On the other hand, they are also very fun and crazy!

- I have an office! It's a little office, with a little window, but nonetheless it is MY office! Oh my goodness! Throughout my whole career I've either had a cube or shared an office. This is the first time I've had a door!! So, so mind blowing! Friday my Director came in to touch base and see how I was settling in. He sat in my chair across from my desk, and I gave him a sitrep on all that was going on. After we were done talking I thanked him for the opportunity. I really am grateful and look forward to getting my hands dirty!

- I have projects already! WTF?!?! This is so friggin' exciting!!

- It looks like it may be very feasible to move into my own apartment in a 3 weeks or so. If all goes well, it shouldn't be an issue. I've found a couple of places that I'll check out this week in person. When I tell people what I'm getting for the money I'm paying they're always surprised. They expect SD to be so much more expensive. Truth be told, IF you want a bling-bling condo-type apartment, sure you can pay an arm and a leg. But that's not what I'm after. I'm after a place that's in a decent area, not far from work and with some basic amenities.

- My birthday came and went without much fanfare. It's all good though, because I'll be making up for that in Santa Barbara!

- I've made some friends at work AND outside of work as well. MySpace is totally bomb! haha! Man that sounded kinda gay...haha!

- My cell phone doesn't work at work OR at my cousin's!! Grr!?!?! So pretty much I make my calls on the way to work, from work or if it's really important from my office (haven't gotten used to saying that yet! LOL). The cell has to be replaced. It's 3 years old and the antennae is being held on by a wad of crazy glue...haha! I REALLY want a RAZR V3x, but Motorola is taking their sweet ass time releasing it! Hopefully I can make due till the new RAZR is released. Sigh.

Employed!

I have a new job! Woohaa!! I am a Business Analyst doing the work I love in a pretty fun environment. My hope and prayer is I can be here for a long time, strengthening my project management and system analysis skills. There is a lot of work still to do in addition to settling into my new job. I haven't relaxed yet. There's so much more to be done. However, I'm allowing myself to smile. :-)

In Limbo

I haven't updated the Treehouse since freaking December. Part of is my DNS was switching over to new servers. Other people could see the site, but I couldn't for a few days. It was fucking annoying. So I have a lot of updating to do! New Year's, hikes in Santa Barbara, and a lot of other stuff. Keep an eye out for new updates. Kim - get off my ass about not updating!!

Right now I am in the middle of a background check for a job I really hope I get. The group of people is cool, the organization has the budgets to put through its initiatives, and it would be a really fun environment. Naw, I'm not talking about it online! Come on! I never talk about where I work, or may work, online. Think happy thoughts, pray, light a candle, whatever your thing is...I'd really like to get this job!
