Julia Goolia Comes to Town!!

Before that, some co-workers got together for a happy hour at a bar near my apartment. We fixed it so Julia would arrive during the happy hour to get some pre-game drinking in. Some people at work are way different out of the office, waaaaaay different. And some people are just more of the same no matter how much alcohol that's in them. Whatever, it was still good to do some bonding. Nothing like a venue to poke fun at your fellow co-workers...haha!

So afterwards we came back to the apartment to change and have some food. I fixed us my now famous vodka shrimp scampi and garlic bread. We headed to On Broadway downtown and it turned out to be the most economical partying I'd ever done in SD! We got in for half price, then took advantage of the drink specials and split up paying for the rounds. I don't recall EVER partying that cheaply for such good stuff!!

Happy Easter!

Today I had to be reminded that today wasn't just about chocolate bunnies and egg hunts. Every has been leaving me Happy Easter messages on MySpace and sending me text messages and asking me what I'm doing this weekend and what not. It wasn't until a random new report or something came that I was reminded beside all the marketing hype, this weekend and I guess the past week or so was supposed to have a major religious connotation. Who woulda thunk it? Can someone please explain to me how the death and ressurection of Jesus Christ became a bunny bouncing, egg-bearing, choco-orgy good time?

I didn't go to church, but I did commune with God's earth for a little bit. Finally I feel like this cold that has been hanging around me neck is dropping off. I slept in then headed to my neighborhood spot for brunch. Then headed off to the lake for a long walk. It was a little a crowded with families picnicing and all, but hey it the kinda day for that sort of thing.

Oh, I need furniture!! This sitting on cushions thing is starting to work my nerves!! In time. Anyone, wanna get me a gift certificate to Jerome's or Wickes? haha!

The Tax Man Cometh!

Oh wait, I already did my taxes. We'll have to see if this is the last I ever get a refund till I own a house or have kids...haha!

Today my mission was to organize my goals for the second quarter of 2006. My anal self has broken down my goals and objectvies by quarter. And I was able to mark off a significant amount stuff from last quarter, but there is a lot of left to get down still. But I don't want to get caught up in the chase to get stuff done, while not stopping to appreciate the work that has been done so far. So I went to get something to eat and took my little notebook with me. The weird thing is, I've been using this notebook since 2005.

It was literally a walk down memory lane, outlining the good, bad, and crazy that went down last year. Here are some of my highlights, with some liberal editting:
Las Vegas 30th Birthday Trip
Financial Planning Meeting
Suz's trip out here
Plans after my layoff
Summer session in Santa Barbara
Return plans to CA
Job & apt hunting in San Diego

It was cool and sobering at the same time. I LOVE lists. So when I go after something, I map it out in broad strokes and go after it. Some of the stuff in my notebook still plague me today. But it was cool to see how many things I was able to 'check' off. There's work to be done!
