Can I PLEASE have a short day?? Today is supposed to be my 'break' during the week…and I still didn't get home till 9:00PM. Spent most of the time waiting on my barber. Eck! Well one of his clients was this FINE girl. Oh my goodness! And of course I went Gump. 'Going Gump' is when I see a beautiful woman get, what my officemate calls 'massively spastic'. Hahah! All upper level intellectual functions cease…haha!

Well earlier in the day I came across some awesome news: expanded specifications for the Infiniti G35 coupe!! This car is my latest obsession! The new specs include Bose 6 disc DVD navigation changer sound system, 18" rims, aero-kit (how can you improve those lines already??), spoiler and a Brembo brakes package!!! Brembo brakes package!?!? Oh bring it on!! This is how I want my G35 coupe: Bose 6 disc DVD Navigation system, sunroof, and 18" rims. Depending on how the aero-kit and wing look like, may get those too.

Another long day. Took a midterm I missed. Gotta give props to my study buddy Julie for lending me her notes. They were a HUGE help. If I don't fail, I owe it to her. Only thing that comes to mind is that I want to pass out…

Call me sick but I love Shakespeare! I won't lie and say that I have some great mystic understanding of all of the language and symbolism…but what I get, I love and I want to get more! Tonight we talked about Hamlet and started to watch of the first films. Instead of portraying it in medieval Europe, it was set in the late 1800s. To see it was just awesome!! Think a live play is in order.

Sadness. Andi left today. Not happy one bit! My world got a little less brighter.

Woke up late - of course!!! There was no way that either Andi or I was gonna get up like it was a work day…hell naw!! Casually rolled out of bed…some time mid-morning…who knows when! After that I had to go to Post Office…after that our adventure began! First we went to Los Carneros to walk around and talk and chill. Had a feeling she would dig and she did. Back in the 'bush', there were some fallen trees that screamed to be climbed! We went back there and pulled a Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon…haha! Climbing up, balancing and PRAYING the damned things wouldn't break underfoot! It was damned fun.

After that we jumped in the car and headed up to Red Rock. I'd never been, but hard heard lots of cool things. On the way there, we cranked the stereo and enjoyed the drive. It's a good 45 minutes to get there because the route is quite circuitous. Once you get there is worth the drive. Well you have to get past all of the little high school boys and girls, who snuck to buy beer and making all kinds of noise. Well we hiked pass all that nonsense and found ourselves near this river. We hopped onto a big rock in the middle of it and just hung out.

After that we got something to eat and headed home. Oh funny moment here…hahaha: we were walking around this shopping center near my house looking for the smoothie place. The line was LONG…so I said let's go home and I'll make them. On our way back to the car, Andi said "I need food or I'm going to get grumpy." I said, "well we don't want you grumpy." Haha! We laughed and called that our 'old couple moment'.

Later I fixed dinner. Ok this pissed me off. I went to Albertson's and got some meat that was on sale - never again! I rarely have red meat and it irked me that what I got was lame. On top of that, it happened with a guest - jeez!

After dinner we saw The Scorpion King. It was actually good! The Rock has range! I was surprised! Even Andi liked it! She is serious critic. I may have to see it again!

The day at work could NOT have gone by fast enough! Andi is coming up for the weekend!! Woohaa!! I miss my friend. The last time we saw each other was the Pimps and Hoes party Halloween last year. Too too long ago. Of course I had save everything for the last minute. Think I hit a world record for cleaning my room and the bathroom!

She got up here a little late, but here nonetheless. Damn it was good seeing her! We sat in the living room talking bout all kinds…including one of my favorites - Star Trek! Andi and I have more love for the Voyager than we do for Next Generation…though the latter is very cool in its own right.

It was good to see my friend again.

Today had lunch with Jennifer from work. This town keeps getting smaller and smaller! She knows of my friends who also runs a web site, and she learned about my site WAY back cause my site was mentioned on it. How funny is that?!?! We went to Natural Café and talked fun for the entire hour! It's cool to find people near your age, who are about something more than just themselves. Seems her and her boyfriend have every current game console on the planet sitting in their house! I wanna play!

The ALSO original Nintendo games!!! Not N64 or SNES, but real honest to goodness 16-bit carts!! How cool is THAT!! One of my fondest memories growing up was me and my best friend Nils sitting in their parents workshop playing Nintendo with a 2 liter bottle of some sugar enriched drink (Hawaiin punch was always a good pick) and some Cheetos or Doritos…aww yes the good old days.

Peter is my boy, homie, partna. Damn cool fellow for being up there in the years…haha…just kidding Peter! This is the same Peter whose Corvette appears in my photo gallery along with Virginia's Porsche. Today I drove him down to Carpentaria to pick up his Vette from being serviced. Literally had to fly down there, so I could make it back in time to clock back in. That is one scenic drive. Brought back memories from having to drive that way back in December.

One of these days I WILL have a car with big horse power numbers, handling like its on rails and serious get up and GO!!

Chris Rock said it best…"we don't pay taxes, the government TAKES taxes!" I agree with that to an extent. I remember my first 'official' job as a bus boy back home. I was anxiously awaiting that first check…then I got it and was like…deductions?!?! FICA?! Social Security…I'm only 15 for crying out loud!! Back when making $150 every 2 weeks was the most amazing thing…haha! Pysche!

When you really think about it, we have it pretty damn good in some respects. The protection of one of the greatest armies in the world, damn high standard of living, etc. There are some things that definitely need addressing. Kids starving on the street, for one. Anyway, today I paid my dues. After hearing about the tax rate in other parts of the world, this ain't half bad.

Chris Rock says that taxes are very interesting…well he says it using more colorful expletives…he says they are because we don't really pay taxes. In so much that we take our checkbook or credit/debit card and pay the government. No the government TAKES taxes and Rock equates that to being jacked…haha! Well today, I got my jacking and had my taxes completed. $135 later they're done!!! H&R Block - I have no words. That 135 bought be piece of mind though.

Also checked out a Kung Fu studio today. I miss my martial arts. Tae Kwon Do was good for a time, but it was missing something…a philosophical or spiritual or some other element. I may check this place out again. I'm not ragging on my teachers at UCSB - not at all. We talked about what I was looking for, and admittedly given the constraints of the class they can't offer the students that level of attention. My sensei rocks and got much love for him.

Spent the rest of day just running errands. While walking around I was reminded of how badly I need new sneakers…mine have lots just about all of the support in the toe and dammit it hurts like hell. Gotta ask if that was journal worthy…haha!

YET another drag ass day! Thankfully I had a lunch date with Colleen from work. Can we say funny as hell, boys and girls? Ended up going to this little Japanese restaurant, but the route we got there was rather, um, circuitous?? I mean we went in the joint from the back. Had to ask her is she was planning on killing me and throwing me in a dumpster…haha!! Naw she is crazy fun people. Seems she has a thing for costumes…as in FULL ON get ups. Props to her, cause she pulls 'em off.

After work on a totally random note, Jesse invited me to the Chumash Casino. We were supposed to enroll in a Black Jack Tournament and meet up with some other co-workers and some of his friends. On the way up Jesse broke down how to play Black Jack for money; strategies and what not.

Aside: I don't believe in luck. Plunking money into a slot machine hoping and praying something will pay off is not my idea of fun. Card games like poker, black jack, etc. have an element of chance, but the primary element is skill. The former is the epitome of gambling. And I don't gamble cause I always LOOSE!! Lol

A couple of friends, Genie and Ron (kept calling him 'Bill' for some strange reason…sorry man!!), who are like high rollers and what not. I won't get into specifics, but they play for BIG BUCKS. Well the casino had invited them and a bunch other high rollers up for the weekend. They got free rooms, dinner, limo service, and the whole nine. I was along for the ride…and totally not used to that…but dammit if it wasn't cool!! We ate like kings and queens for free! Thanks Genie, Ron and Jesse for a damned fun night!!!

One of the highlights of the night striking up conversation with this pit boss. She was FINE. 5'6" or 5'7", blond, very well proportioned with emphasis on the booty (me like), had the overall build of a dancer (my favorite 'type' if I had to nail one down). But the most striking thing about her was her demeanor. She walked like she owned the joint - and I dug that. Some will say, they need this or that in a body type…yea that's important to a degree. For me the rest of the equation is about poise, confidence…the ability to pull it all off and not have to overly brag that you're da bomb. She was/is the dictionary definition of this concept. Anyway, we're supposed to touch base again soon…we'll see what happens. Even if I don't talk to her ever again, I'm proud of myself for getting up the nerve for striking up conversation with an incredibly attractive woman. Because that's something I don't normally do.

Today was a drag ass day. No other way to put it. The kind of days that 'Office Space' was written for. It ended on a good note. Jesse, Brian and I met up at the Elephant Bar (themed restaurant here that's like cross between TGIF and Wild Kingdom) after work. Ordered some appetizers and stuff to drink and talked crap, like only guys talk crap.

Segue…Women talk crap too don't they?? No, I'm not saying that women get together and talk about make up only…naw I mean when a bunch of women come together, their probably isn't much difference between what they talk and what we talk about. Save for some we don't have in common...ahem.

Back to the E-bar…so we're sitting there chilling and talking crap and this FINE girl is working there. All eyes are on her. Everyone is checking this girl out. And granted she is very good looking. I said to myself what the hell, only live once, excuse myself from my boys and go across the room to say hello. Just told her she was incredibly beautiful and walked away. That's it. No pick up, attempt get a number anything…cause that's all I wanted to do, just say that. She had a look of shock on her face…that was funny to me.

I can give a presentation in front of VPs and what not be in total control. I can conduct a training session with a bunch of people I know and don't know and be in total control. I can even go to networking sessions and chat it up with perfect strangers and be in totally control. Set me to talk to a woman and I turn into Raymond from Rain Man.

Not sure just what the hell is going on…but I woke up this morning barely being able to talk. Just when I had thought that I had dodged flu season, it comes back to bite me in the butt! Hopefully this is the worst of it cause I've missed enough of work as it is.

Instead of watching TV, I listened to Heart of Darkness on tape for my English. You know what - that mug was da bomb! Whoever that fellow was who was reading, did an awesome job. Parts of the book that didn't make ANY sense seemed to click. If you've read Conrad you'll know what I'm talking about. His use of English is very convoluted, imagery is very subtle and picking up his themes are job in and of themselves. I got most of the book though. Thanks to Julie (NOT my ex) for lending me the tapes.
