This acting thing is kinda cool ya know? The idea of immersing yourself into another life…another psyche altogether is really appealing. Heck, as kids we used to call that 'pretend', didn't we?? Today my acting partner (Ian) and I had to do a dry run of the scene. In this scene I'm supposed to do something things I don't ordinarily do. First I have to curse. Something, I'm not used to doing - truly. I am so out of practice. The other thing that I have to do was allow myself to be tied up. Whoa. But I can do that name of the art right? We did the dry run, made some improvements, but I'm not feeling the whole tying up bit.

Tonight was very odd. It's the only way that I can describe it. For our acting class you have 3 readings. The first reading is a dry run and you're basically on-book (reading from your script). Judy (our teacher) doesn't interrupt you and you just read with your partner or by yourself if you're doing a monologue. The second reading is when you're critiqued. You're stopped at some point during the scene and you're offered things that could make your scene better. It's the most frustrating because she tries makes you do these exercises that pertain to the scene, but if you're patience is already sort of thin, it can old fast.

My Scene.

My scene is taken from The Crying Game, and in it I'm supposed to be tied up. Not only am I tied up, but I also have some over my head. Did I mention that I'm claustrophobic? To make things easier, my partner wanted Cami, a good friend of mine to tie me up. Well the teacher wasn't having none of that! She wanted HIM to do it, so it would help him get into character. Well he did it and seemed to like it a tad too much.

Tonight was a house party and Madalena (breathtakingly beautiful red headed acting classmate) and James her significant other. She is a trombone player and a singer and he is a writer and pianist. There was all kinds of BOMB food. Turns out they are Italian and both LOVE to eat good food. They are new to SB and they throw these really cool large parties to get to know people and showcase their music and other people's as well. Is it me or like 95% of all musicians are beautiful and/or handsome?? Just about everyone at their party would have looked perfectly at place either on a day time soap or on MTV!! Lol!

Final scene. Whoa. This is it. Go big or go home. Balls to the wall. Did I mention that I have NEVER given a performance in front of a group of people before?? Did I mention that this is an advanced scene requiring that be tied up?? Did I mention the fact that my partner does a damn good job of scaring the crap out of me??

All through the scene I was on pins and needles. The butterflies in my stomach turned into huge wasps! I was totally focused though…the lines seemed to flow. The only thing that I was self-conscious about was my volume. In acting it's allegedly a good idea to 'surprise' your partner so they have something to work off of. It actually does work. However my partner took it too a wholePics from this day other level!! He did things like poke me sharply with sticks, bang on pans near my head, and tugging at my ropes that we had NOT discussed. After the scene people thought it was very powerful and moving! I was soo damned happy! Woohaa!!

Remember my friend Chelsea? Pop her name in the search engine to see pics and journals entries. Well one of things that Ms. Chelsea is known for is her hair. It tends to change color on occasion, but its usually really long and thick. The girl could be in one of those Herbal Essence commercials - easy! Now peep this: she chopped it off!! It's like above her shoulders! I've seen pics on her web site, but in person it was quite something! She still looks really good, but it's just different.

Yes, I confess! I love seeing long beautiful, luxuriously thick hair on a woman! If it has a little curl to it too, all the better! Haha! And Chelsea STILL ranks up there! Don't get me wrong…I'm partial to brown with hints of red. Now that is really tight!

We went Glow Bowling, ever been? It's where this turn on these black light and swap the regular pins for these other one that glow bright green or pink. Haha! Some of the balls also turn different colors under the light too. She got spanked! Her excuse was that she couldn't find a ball that fits her hand. My response: riiiight!

Shows like Leave it to Beaver or The Brady Bunch pop into my head my head when I start thinking about my friends Cami and John and Dave and Eydie and Beth and Micheal…haha! They are too cool, and I love them to death! They seem live this like really idyllic suburbanite lifestyle, with the BBQ with the neighbors, and what not. In this crazy world, it is so refreshing to see stuff like that still!

We all went on this hike off of Turnpike. It was cool because the hike took us along a stream. I don't believe in the whole Zodiac sign thing, but my sign seems to fit me. I'm an Aquarius and I love to be near water.

Later on that night, I hung out with Max while Mollie went to a dance and his parents went to a play. I couldn't very well leave him there alone! We ended playing fighting video games and talking crap the whole time. Lots of fun! Yea, yea, I am totally a guy. Lol!

Every now and then I have the privilege to work at some high profile event. And I ALWAYS have a blast!! Truth be told it's usually just a whole lotta waiting. Wait for the drivers to show up. Wait for the party to start. Wait for the party to end. Wait for the clients to call for their cars. However in between the waiting, all kinds of fun stuff can happen!

Tonight I'm working Vanity Fair's Academy Awards party with my friend Oz! The night started out pretty routine with picking up our headsets. We didn't have the ones with microphone that swing in front of your mouth, but this time we got the secret service numbers that go into your ear and the microphone in the inside of your wrist. Dude it was too funny!! Felt like we were bodyguards for real! By the way, IF you do see someone with an earpiece, in a suit and happen to have a pin in their lapel, check for a bulge on either side of their waist, back or ankle. More times than not, these folks are private security with a license to carry concealed weapons. On a more shallow note: some of these guys need better tailors! Haha! You should NOT even see a bulge!! Lol!

On the walk through we see Tim Allen go into a party up the street…it was the birthday party for that guy who sung that song for Princess Di when she died. The name totally escapes me!

Later on that night we talked to Rick James…I've never come across someone who may have been stoned, but he appeared to be under the influence of something, and I'm not suggesting what! Haha! He showed up with this entourage of FINE women! One was this tall Nordic Goddess with a figure from Asgard! The guy who played 'Shooter McGowan' on Happy Gilmore was there too. The highlight of the night was this woman who was the first black model or whatever they're called on The Price Is Right. I think she was in her late 40s, but the woman was breathtaking!! She rolled up with Rick in her new BMW 740iL. Nice. She also had daughter with her and she was FINE too! No I didn't get any numbers! I was working dammit!! lol

Today was the first meeting of the users who were getting new laptops with Windows 2000. It did NOT go well at all. The meeting itself was straightforward and I was able to cover everything that I needed to cover. However, getting everyone set up on their systems was a pain in arse!
